Greetings! We are seeking an accomplished and visionary General Manager Construction with 20+ years of experience to lead the development of a large-scale Industrial Park project . The ideal candidate will bring deep technical acumen, strategic foresight, and proven leadership to oversee the complete life cycle of the project from planning and permitting to execution, commissioning, and handover. This executive-level role requires robust experience in managing multi-phase infrastructure developments , navigating complex stakeholder landscapes, and delivering results in dynamic environments. You will be the single point of accountability for driving construction performance, regulatory compliance, quality, and profitability of the Industrial Park project. Key Responsibilities: 1. Executive Leadership & Strategy Lead the strategic planning and execution of the construction phase of the Industrial Park in alignment with the organizations long-term goals. Drive operational excellence, instilling a high-performance culture across all construction functions. Represent the construction division at the board level and provide expert recommendations for capital investment, risk mitigation, and scalability. 2. Project Governance & Delivery Oversee the entire project lifecycle, including design coordination, tendering, site mobilization, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover. Ensure strict adherence to project scope, budget, milestones, and quality benchmarks. Establish governance frameworks for reporting, auditing, cost control, and project monitoring. 3. Stakeholder & Government Liaison Act as the lead liaison with government departments, regulatory agencies, utility providers, and statutory authorities to obtain clearances and permissions. Engage with investors, strategic partners, and anchor clients to align infrastructure delivery with occupancy schedules. Foster strong relationships with consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure collaborative execution. 4. Technical Oversight & Infrastructure Development Direct the development of infrastructure components including roads, utilities, water supply, drainage, stormwater management, power distribution, and plot-level services. Oversee the construction of core and common facilities such as administrative buildings, substations, ETP/STP plants, and internal logistics infrastructure. Review and approve technical drawings, BOQs, construction methodologies, and materials for quality, durability, and cost-effectiveness. 5. Budgeting, Cost Control & Risk Management Lead the formulation and management of project budgets exceeding hundreds of crores/millions. Monitor project expenditures, contractor payments, change orders, and claims to maintain financial discipline. Identify project risks (technical, commercial, regulatory) and implement early warning systems and contingency plans. 6. Leadership of Cross-Functional Teams Lead a multi-disciplinary team comprising civil, mechanical, electrical, safety, and project management professionals. Mentor senior managers, promote knowledge transfer, and build a pipeline of future leadership talent. Champion health, safety, and environment (HSE) excellence across all sites. Candidate Profile: Education: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (mandatory) Masters Degree (preferred) in Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), or Infrastructure Planning Experience: 20+ years of progressive experience in construction and infrastructure project management Proven track record of delivering large-scale Industrial Parks, SEZs, industrial estates, or multi-use industrial zones Strong background in greenfield development , civil infrastructure, utilities, and EPC project models Technical Proficiency: Expertise in project planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project) Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and ERP systems Knowledge of FIDIC/DB contracts, BOQ estimation, and value engineering Key Skills and Attributes: Visionary leadership and organizational transformation skills Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills Deep understanding of government regulations, compliance, and permitting processes Business acumen and commercial awareness for managing budgets, contracts, and cash flow Strong analytical, decision-making, and crisis-management abilities Commitment to sustainability, safety, and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles
