As a Mechanical Fitter at Siemens Energy, you will play a crucial role in performing precision inspections, repairs, and assembly on steam turbines, high-speed compressors, gear assemblies, and related equipment for the power, gas, and oil industries. Your responsibilities will include carrying out equipment inspections, repairs, and assemblies based on a detailed checklist, ensuring adherence to defined manufacturing and testing guidelines, processes, and procedures, and prioritizing production activities as per established quality and EHS requirements. Additionally, you will contribute to production planning processes, handle and maintain tools and equipment with care, develop, manufacture, and source special tooling required for turbine and compressor repairs, and uphold the health and safety standards of employees, plant, equipment, and buildings in alignment with company policies. To be successful in this role, you must possess a valid Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter and Turner or a relevant equivalent tertiary qualification. Moreover, a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in a workshop/service center working on high-speed centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, high-speed gear assemblies, and related auxiliary equipment is required. Your experience should encompass various tasks such as the removal and fitting of turbine blades, manufacturing and fitting of seal strips, dismantling and assembly of shrunk wheels and impellers, and repair and assembly of high precision auxiliaries including oil pumps, barring gears, turbine valve assemblies, turbine and compressor assemblies. Knowledge of assembly and repair of turbo machinery, compressors, turbines, high-speed gear assemblies, and related auxiliaries, as well as the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, are also essential skills for this position.
