About Our Group: The Hardware R&D department is responsible for developing all Applied Materials PDC machines that perform optical and electron microscopy. Our tools are essential for inspecting semiconductor wafers during the microchip fabrication process. Key Responsibilities: Design mechanical components, including structural elements, pneumatic systems, vacuum systems, manual and motorized mechanisms, filtration systems, and cooling systems for clean room environments. Conduct CAE simulations and analyses for design validation and troubleshooting. Create detailed drawings, define fabrication processes, materials, and finish standards with comprehensive GD&T, and perform complex tolerance analyses.
