Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient BigQuery Project Administrator with 3+ years of experience on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically BigQuery. This role focuses on project and cost governance, query optimization, and performance improvements. You will collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, and finance teams to ensure efficient, scalable, and cost-effective use of BigQuery resources. Key Responsibilities: Optimization & Performance Tuning Analyze query patterns, access logs, and usage metrics to recommend schema optimizations (partitioning, clustering, materialized views) Identify opportunities to improve BigQuery performance and reduce storage/computation costs Collaborate with engineers to refactor inefficient queries and optimize data workloads Project & Cost Governance Monitor and manage BigQuery project structures, billing configurations, quotas, and resource usage Implement and enforce cost control measures, quotas, and budget alerts Create regular reports on usage, cost trends, and anomalies for stakeholders Collaboration & Support Serve as a bridge between engineering and finance teams for BigQuery-related planning and decisions Support onboarding of new teams into the BigQuery environment Provide training and guidance on best practices and cost-efficient usage Best Practices & Compliance Define and advocate for BigQuery usage standards and best practices Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and privacy policies Maintain documentation on project setup, governance workflows, and optimization strategies Qualifications: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a focus on BigQuery Strong understanding of SQL, data warehousing, and cloud cost management Experience with GCP billing, IAM (Identity and Access Management), and resource configuration Preferred Certifications: Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer

bFinOps Practitioner AWS/ AZURE/GCP With cloud-first strategy the organization need to improve the processes in workload management as the procurement of resources in the cloud is not done by the Finance team alone, as in the past, but y Cloud Engineers & Product Owners. Adopting FinOps principles has helped to create visibility of the cloud spend, optimize the resource usage and longer-term commitments to get discounted rates for our workloads. The candidate should have the following Skill & Experience Manage cost visibility of public cloud platform for AWS/ AZURE/GCP Monitor cloud spend and create budget alerts Facilitate the implementation of FinOps tool Conduct periodic reports and regular reviews of cloud spend with (AWS/ AZURE /GCP) Cloud Billing Console & with other FinOps tool Manage cloud commitments (CUD, Saving Plans, RI) & suggest use of Preemptible or Spot instances, wherever suitable Identify unused resources and schedule decommissioning. Optimize existing resources by rightsizing instances Optimize architecture by migrating to scalable resources Define the FinOps framework and roadmap Support Finance for budgeting forecast and Enterprise agreements with providers Become the bridge between Finance, Product Owners & Cloud Engineers Advocate FinOps principles in day-to-day operations & induce FinOps culture within the stakeholders Bachelors degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant fields At least 7-8 years of experience on public cloud platforms and at least 4 years of exposure to AWS/ AZURE/GCP billing management Associate or Professional level certified candidate in AWS/AZURE/GCP is a plus FinOps Certified Practitioner is an additional advantage Good understanding of AWS/ AZURE/ GCP Billing methodology, Organization & Project structure Good understanding of instance types, storage types & of other AWS/AZURE/GCP services Good understanding of cost drivers for cloud resources Understanding of variable cost models for cloud resources Possess moderate verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with technical and nontechnical personnel at various levels in the organization and with vendors Experience building BI dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, etc...) Experience in Platforms like Flexera, CloudHealth, Apptio, Datadog would be an added advantage.
