Job Summary I am looking for a barista who excels at crafting high-quality coffee beverages using our established recipes, yet possesses the insight and creativity to tailor drinks to individual customer tastes and contexts. This role blends technical skill with intuition, enhancing both consistency and personalization. Core Responsibilities Recipe Execution & Precision Prepare and serve espresso-based and other hot/cold beverages exactly following our recipes to maintain consistency and quality. Operate equipment (espresso machines, grinders, brew stations) with skill and care to ensure performance and repeatability. Intelligent Adaptation Adjust and personalize beverages based on customer preferences (e.g., sweetness, milk type, strength), enhancing both taste and experience. Offer optimized substitutions (e.g. different milk alternatives), balancing flavor with dietary needs or taste profiles. Customer Engagement & Education Greet and interact with customers in a friendly, knowledgeable way. Guide them through the menu and brewing methods to elevate their café experience. Suggest suitable drinks or upgrades based on their preferences or mood. Maintain Quality & Consistency Preserve consistency in look and taste across drinks, even when modifications are made. Create a welcoming, accessible environment—especially in smaller cafés where baristas may both take orders and prepare drinks. Workflow & Organization Keep the beverage station clean, organized, and fully stocked; manage inventory and restock supplies proactively. Handle customer orders and payments accurately using POS systems. Equipment & Hygiene Clean and maintain machines and workspace throughout shifts to ensure hygiene and equipment longevity. Collaboration & Growth Work as part of a team to ensure smooth operations during peak periods. Participate in ongoing training to learn new techniques, seasonal offerings, and customer-adjusted preparations. Required Qualifications & Skills Strong knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and flavor profiles. Proven ability to prepare high-quality espresso and other drinks with precision. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Adaptability in a fast-paced environment; ability to multitask efficiently. Attention to detail, cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety protocols. Preferred / Bonus Qualifications Certifications (e.g., SCA, BGA) or advanced latte art skills.
