As a Simulation Engineer specializing in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Combustion, you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise to deliver high-quality simulations for various projects. You should possess a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the field and have a strong understanding of gas dynamics, shock interactions, aerodynamics, and combustion modeling. Your primary role will involve utilizing simulation tools such as ANSYS FLUENT, Chemkin, and Star CCM+ to provide solutions in CFD. You will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in areas such as combustion modeling, gas dynamics, shock interactions, and external aerodynamics. Additionally, having a basic knowledge of MATLAB for post-processing will be beneficial for this role. Preferred skills for this position include experience with Fluent dynamic and overset meshing, 6DOF UDFs, external aerodynamics best practices, and familiarity with pressure-based and density-based solvers. Knowledge of low subsonic to hyper-sonic flows, adaptive meshing, job submission on clusters, and TUI journal utilization for automation are also advantageous. To qualify for this role, you should have a background in Chemical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on combustion physics. A Ph.D. in Combustion modeling is preferred, along with experience using ANSYS FLUENT, STAR CCM+, or similar commercial CFD software. You should also demonstrate a strong interest in combustion, aerodynamics, AeroThermodynamics, Scram-jet Engine CFD Modeling, propulsion, and liquid propellant rocket engine physics.
