Principal Responsibilities: EHS Audit Develop a daily audit checklist for plant EHS requirements. Conduct audits as per the defined frequency and maintain and monitor the action plan and compliance on audit points. Perform daily site inspections to observe physical work conditions, work practices, and procedures followed by workers, and report to the Site Manager and concerned staff. Identify any abnormalities or deviations in housekeeping, spills, and EHS violations, and report them to the Project Manager. Establish EHS Processes and Monitor for Effectiveness Implement and monitor the Work Permit System. Conduct mock drills and evacuation plans, and maintain records of these drills. Test and monitor firefighting equipment. Develop and conduct EHS training programs for all categories of employees. Coordinate and participate in the investigation of accidents and near-miss incidents; review and analyze these incidents and recommend corrective actions. Conduct daily safety walks. Oversee testing and maintenance of lifts, overhead cranes, wire ropes, etc. Maintain and update the MSDS for chemicals used within the plant. Ensure the availability of required Personal Protective Equipment in good working condition. Ensure compliance with customer audit requirements. Conduct safety committee meetings and ensure compliance with all points discussed. Organize safety campaigns and competitions to motivate employees toward a safe work environment. Celebrate Safety Week and Environment Day by organizing various trainings and competitions. Legal Compliances Maintain and monitor legal compliance under various EHS laws. Ensure wastewater treatment is carried out within the parameters specified in the consent granted by the Pollution Control Board. Work on reducing air, water, and noise pollution, stack monitoring, handling and disposal of hazardous waste, and legal compliance related to MPCB. Maintain records in compliance with statutory provisions. Coordinate with factory inspectors, MPCB officers, and other government officials. Ensure COVID-related legal compliance, training, and emergency preparedness. Ensure departmental policies and processes are aligned and updated with changing customer requirements pertaining to EHS. Industry Preference: Preferably from the manufacturing industry. Skills: Knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, 5S, Poka-Yoke, Kaizen, and TPM Safety. Knowledge of ESG, SBTi compliance, and LCA studies. Ability to prepare detailed audit reports with relevant preventive and corrective measures. Strong communication and convincing skills. Excellent training skills. Knowledge and experience in conducting safety audits and inspections, risk assessments, accident investigations and reporting, safety meetings, and creating safety awareness through slogans, walkthroughs, safety awards, and compliance activities. Qualifications: Degree/Diploma in Engineering and Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (mandatory). NEBOSH certification.
