To lead and manage the Quality function for an aerospace precision machining company, ensuring the highest levels of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement in line with AS9100, customer requirements, and aerospace industry standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Quality Strategy & Leadership Define and implement the overall quality strategy aligned with company goals. Establish quality KPIs and monitor performance to drive continuous improvement. Lead and mentor the Quality team, including QA, QC, and inspection personnel. 2. Standards & Compliance Ensure compliance with AS9100 , NADCAP (if applicable), and customer-specific requirements. Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS). Lead internal, customer, and third-party audits (AS9100, OEM, etc.). Oversee calibration of measuring instruments and maintain traceability. 3. Operational Quality Assurance Drive in-process and final inspection processes for machined aerospace components. Lead problem-solving efforts using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 8D, FMEA, and CAPA. Establish quality control procedures for incoming materials, in-process checks, and final product inspection. Manage First Article Inspections (FAI) and PPAP submissions as required by aerospace customers. 4. Customer Focus Act as the primary quality contact for customers. Handle customer complaints and ensure timely resolution with corrective and preventive actions. Support new product development through quality planning and validation. 5. Continuous Improvement Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement initiatives. Drive reduction in rework, rejection, and scrap by using data-driven methods. Facilitate training and skill-building programs for shopfloor quality awareness. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering (Masters degree preferred). Certified in AS9100 , Lead Auditor , Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) preferred. 12+ years of experience in Quality, with minimum 5 years in a leadership role in aerospace CNC machining environment. Key Skills & Competencies: Deep knowledge of aerospace quality standards, GD&T, and machining tolerances. Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and metrology (CMM, profile projectors, surface testers). Proficient in quality tools: SPC, MSA, PFMEA, 8D, CAPA, Pareto, Fishbone. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Analytical thinking with attention to detail. Preferred Experience: Exposure to working with OEMs like HAL, Airbus, Boeing, Safran, Pratt & Whitney , etc. Experience in implementing digital quality systems or Industry 4.0 tools .
