KRA for Engineering Workshop Supervisor1. Work Planning & Allotment· Allocate daily/weekly work to technicians, fitters, welders, machinists, and helpers as per job priority. · Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and tools. · Track job progress and adjust manpower allocation to meet deadlines. 2. Supervision & Execution· Monitor ongoing jobs for quality, accuracy, and timely completion. · Resolve technical issues on the shop floor with quick decision-making. · Coordinate with design/purchase/maintenance teams for smooth workflow. 3. Quality Assurance· Ensure jobs are executed as per drawings, specifications, and standards. · Conduct random checks and final inspections before dispatch. · Report and reduce rework/rejections. 4. Safety & Compliance· Ensure all workers follow safety protocols, PPE usage, and housekeeping standards. · Conduct tool-box talks and safety briefings regularly. · Report and prevent near-miss and unsafe practices. 5. Material & Resource Management· Check availability of raw materials, consumables, and tools before job allocation. · Raise material requisitions on time to avoid delays. · Monitor tool condition and report for maintenance/replacement. 6. Team Management & Training· Guide and mentor technicians, helpers, and new staff. · Identify skill gaps and recommend training needs. · Maintain discipline, punctuality, and teamwork in the workshop. 7. Documentation & Reporting· Maintain daily job status, man-hours utilization, and progress reports. · Submit production, rejection, and downtime reports to management. · Update records of maintenance schedules and completed work. 8. Continuous Improvement· Suggest process improvements for productivity and cost reduction. · Implement lean practices (5S, · sort through and eliminate that which is not truly needed · Straighten organize what remains after sorting · Shine to clean and inspect the work area · Standard to create standards that support a repeatable process · Sustain to consistently apply these standards across work areas Participate in root-cause analysis for failures or defects.
