The Edge Platform Team at Uber is seeking a Senior Engineer to be a key member in building and managing API Gateways for various integrations with the Uber Mobile App, External APIs, and streaming data services. These services play a crucial role in ensuring Uber's business operations run securely and efficiently. In this role, you will demonstrate thought leadership and drive execution in the key domains of API Gateways and integration services. You will have complete ownership of specific subareas within this domain, requiring you to multitask and take charge of the areas under your responsibility. Responsibilities: - Design and develop innovative platform infrastructure for usage across all Uber applications. - Analyze and optimize Uber's web architecture and UI libraries to enhance user experience. - Improve platform performance to deliver a seamless user experience and enhance site performance. Basic Qualifications: - BS or MS degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - Minimum 6 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, specializing in web development. - Proficiency in building large-scale web applications using React, FusionJS, HTML, and CSS. - Strong problem-solving skills, architectural understanding, and algorithmic knowledge. - Strong focus on software quality and system reliability. - Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues at all levels. Preferred Qualifications: - In-depth knowledge of web server and client performance optimizations. - Experience and interest in full-stack development, including Backend or Data-related work.
