Job Purpose: Support the Product and Engineering Manager, in development and support of Inchcape Shipping Services Legacy Applications for the Supply Chain business streams. The primary responsibility of the role holder is to make sure the changes are developed as per the functional specifications. Duties include technical documentation, development and testing of enhancements, preparation of release updates and documentation, database architecture, provide 3rd line support (bug fixes) and reporting. Duties and Responsibilities Development of application enhancements to meet the agreed functional specification. Manage database architecture for the legacy applications and document them. Interact with the business to review and agree on functional requirements. Convert functional requirements to a technical specification including process flow diagrams. Contribute to the unit and quality testing of the application enhancements. Prioritize, plan, and prepare release schedules. Prepare application release updates, documentation, and user manuals. Conduct post release review and cascade functional and application process flow to the support team. Ensure that the application version control and clear segregation of development and production environment for the applications. Work within the team (as appropriate) for knowledge sharing and transfer that is documented. Provide 3rd line expert support and bug fixes for the applications. Preparation of ad-hoc reporting requirements for the applications supported by the team. Systematic maintenance of documentation processes that are actioned for applications this includes controls put in place and changes made. Making sure that all incidents and efforts related to the applications enhancements are logged in Jira. Develop self through identifying and completing learning activities. Knowledge Professional degree with Computer Science / Engineering Expert in modern software engineering practices Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, Visual Basic 6.0, ASP .NET, AJAX and Java script., SQL Server Reporting Services and Reporting Tools (such as Crystal Reports, Jasper Reports etc.), Database technologies preferably MS SQL Server, InterSystems Cache Exposure to any middleware platforms like Mulesoft, Webmethods, Dell Boomi will be an added advantage. Scripting languages preferably python, PowerShell • Agile product management tools like Jira, Confluence, etc. Skills Effective verbal & written communication skills Excellent analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Strong collaborative and partner approach Software engineering skills with high tech resilience Agile development methodologies Experience 4+ years of Full stack software engineering experience covering frontend, backend, middleware, database. 4+ years .NET, Visual Basic 6.0, ASP .NET development experience Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering principles is an added advantage
