As a Frontend Engineer at Tower Research Capital, you will have the opportunity to work on developing complex, high-performance trading and risk management UIs using modern frameworks. Your responsibilities will include architecting and owning the development of mission-critical UIs, establishing a unified design system, defining technical roadmaps, collaborating with backend teams, and optimizing performance and scalability for real-time data-intensive workloads. You will also drive architecture decisions, mentor frontend engineers, and influence firm-wide UI strategy. **Key Responsibilities:** - Architect and own the development of high-performance trading and risk management UIs using modern frameworks - Establish and champion a unified UI design system and component library for cross-product consistency - Define and execute long-term technical roadmaps for the frontend organization - Collaborate with backend teams to optimize architecture for low-latency, high-throughput delivery - Lead performance and scalability optimization for frontends handling real-time, data-intensive workloads - Design and implement reusable abstractions for complex visualizations supporting large-scale streaming data - Drive architecture decisions around build systems, testing strategy, and performance instrumentation - Champion engineering excellence through documentation, clean architecture, and best practices - Implement observability and instrumentation to monitor user sessions, latency, and system performance - Work directly with stakeholders to translate complex workflows into intuitive interfaces - Mentor frontend engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement - Influence firm-wide UI strategy by identifying emerging technologies and scaling patterns **Qualifications:** - 8-12 years of professional experience in frontend development with expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript - Hands-on experience with React, Vue, or equivalent frameworks - Understanding of frontend architecture patterns and state management - Experience building high-frequency, data-rich, ultra-low-latency interfaces - Proficiency in build and deployment systems, CI/CD pipelines, and performance optimization - Familiarity with containerized development and observability stacks - Exceptional communication and leadership skills - Ability to decompose complex business workflows into modular, performant UI systems **Preferred Qualifications:** - Knowledge of WebAssembly, Web Workers, and service worker caching strategies - Familiarity with GraphQL, Protocol Buffers, or gRPC-Web for efficient communication - Experience designing component-driven architectures using Storybook or similar tools - Ability to balance architectural vision with rapid delivery At Tower Research Capital, you will find a collaborative and welcoming culture, diverse team, and a workplace that values both performance and enjoyment.
