Front-End Developer

As a detail-obsessed front-end engineer at Cube, an early-stage startup backed by Sequoia, Peak XV, Graph Ventures, and angel investors, you will be responsible for translating design mock-ups into high-performance pages using HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/SCSS), and vanilla JavaScript. Cube, a generative AI startup in Bengaluru, focuses on helping multi-location businesses enhance their online reputation management and customer care through ChatGPT technology. Your role will involve building and maintaining responsive pages, integrating front-end code with PHP-based WordPress themes/plugins and Shopify Liquid templates, and optimizing performance for speed, SEO, and cross-browser/device consistency. You will implement UI/UX best practices, animations, and micro-interactions to create a delightful user experience. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and back-end engineers during US business hours to ensure seamless functionality and rapid iteration. To excel in this role, you should have at least 5 years of professional front-end development experience and a strong command of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, and browser dev-tools. Experience in writing PHP for WordPress and/or Liquid for Shopify integrations is essential, along with a solid understanding of UI/UX principles, accessibility (WCAG), and SEO-friendly markup. Proficiency in Git-based workflows and tools like npm/Webpack or Vite is required, as well as clear communication and teamwork skills. Nice-to-have skills include experience with jQuery or lightweight JS libraries, exposure to modern JS frameworks (React, Vue, Svelte), knowledge of performance best practices (lazy loading, code splitting), and familiarity with design tools like Figma or Adobe XD in Agile environments.
