Freelance VFX & CGI Artist

As a Visual Effects Artist, you will be responsible for designing and creating a variety of visual elements, ranging from realistic explosions to magical effects. You will utilize software like Blender and Houdini to bring these concepts to life. Additionally, you will be involved in 3D modeling and animation using tools such as Maya and Blender, texturing and shading to define visual appearances, and compositing to seamlessly integrate computer-generated elements with live-action footage. Your key responsibilities include: - Conceptualizing and creating realistic or fantastical visual elements using software like Blender/Houdini - Designing 3D models of characters, objects, and environments and bringing them to life through animation - Creating textures and shaders for defining the visual appearance of 3D assets - Seamlessly integrating computer-generated elements with live-action footage through compositing - Tracking camera movement and rotoscoping specific elements for integration and manipulation - Applying lighting and shadows to 3D scenes for a realistic and aesthetically pleasing look - Collaborating with directors, supervisors, and artists to bring artistic vision to life - Managing projects by tracking daily progress and ensuring timely delivery of visual effects To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications: - Expertise in industry-standard software such as Maya, Blender, Houdini, and Adobe After Effects - A strong artistic eye for composition, color, lighting, and storytelling - Knowledge of visual principles including light, shadow, texture, and motion - Strong problem-solving skills to overcome technical and artistic challenges - Effective teamwork and communication skills for collaboration with creative and technical teams This freelance position requires your presence in person at the work location.,
