Description
In this role as a Senior FPGA & Computer Architecture Research Engineer at Vicharak, you will be at the forefront of pioneering reconfigurable computing technologies. Your contributions will play a crucial role in shaping the future of hardware adaptability to meet software demands, particularly in overcoming traditional CPU limitations. By combining CPUs with FPGA accelerators in platforms like Axon and Vaaman, you will be instrumental in delivering real-time, high-efficiency edge AI and compute performance, thus contributing to India's position in global deeptech innovation. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Architecture Leadership:** You will be responsible for defining and implementing next-gen reconfigurable computing architectures and hardware/software partitioning strategies. - **FPGA Design & Optimization:** Design, simulate, and optimize FPGA logic using Verilog/VHDL, tailored to specific computational workloads and improving hardware efficiency. - **Hardware Acceleration:** Collaborate with software teams to integrate FPGA modules for AI, robotics, and edge compute applications such as Vaaman and Axon. - **Compiler & Toolchain Integration:** Enable compiler-driven hardware acceleration by automating ONNX-to-FPGA translation and developing streamlined driver and bitstream generation tools. - **Performance Analysis:** Utilize profiling, benchmarking, and simulation techniques to ensure efficient system performance. - **Research & Prototyping:** Incorporate academic advancements in LLVM/MLIR and architecture-specific optimization for practical deployment. - **Mentorship & Collaboration:** Guide junior engineers, share expertise, and foster innovation within the team. **Required Expertise:** - Proven track record in FPGA design with Verilog/VHDL and synthesis tools. - Strong foundation in computer architecture, parallel computing, and hardware/software co-design. - Proficiency in C/C++, compiler toolchains, and familiarity with frameworks like LLVM and MLIR. - Experience in integrating hardware accelerators with software, including abstractions, drivers, and toolchains. - Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments, scripting languages (Python/Bash), and version control systems like Git or CI/CD pipelines. - Solid performance analysis and optimization skills. - Excellent communication and leadership capabilities. **Desirable/Add-on Qualifications:** - Knowledge of edge computing platforms and SoCs such as RK3399 and RK3588. - Experience in authoring research papers, whitepapers, or academic prototypes. - Background in robotics, autonomous systems, or AI inference accelerators.
