You are a skilled Fortinet SD-WAN Engineer with over 5 years of experience in network engineering, specializing in SD-WAN technologies and Fortinet solutions. Your primary responsibility is to design, deploy, and support Fortinet Secure SD-WAN solutions in distributed enterprise environments. Your role is remote, focusing on ensuring robust, secure, and highly available network performance by collaborating with network architects and security teams. Your key responsibilities include designing, configuring, and deploying Fortinet SD-WAN solutions across multiple branches and data centers. You will optimize WAN performance to reduce latency, ensure high availability, and implement automated failover mechanisms. Additionally, you will work with network and security teams to align SD-WAN architecture with enterprise security and compliance standards, conduct site assessments, develop migration plans, and execute cutovers with minimal service disruption. You must configure routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and static routes, implement application-aware traffic steering based on business priorities, and maintain and troubleshoot FortiGate SD-WAN edge devices. Monitoring network performance, analyzing telemetry and logs, and fine-tuning policies to enhance performance and security are also part of your responsibilities. Providing Level 3 support for complex SD-WAN issues, contributing to root cause analysis, and creating technical documentation are crucial aspects of your role. To excel in this position, you need in-depth knowledge of IP networking, routing protocols, VPNs, Quality of Service configurations, and experience in deploying scalable, secure SD-WAN environments. Strong troubleshooting skills, including log interpretation and telemetry analysis, are essential. Additionally, you should possess excellent documentation skills to produce clear and concise network runbooks and change records. Preferred certifications for this role include Fortinet NSE 4 / NSE 5 / NSE 6 / NSE 7, CCNP, Network+, or SD-WAN vendor-specific certifications, although they are not mandatory.,
