The main objectives of this position involve planning and executing regional, global, internal, and customer-oriented projects in the lab. You will be responsible for scheduling lab application activities and organizing work to meet study requirements efficiently. Additionally, you will develop, coordinate, and manage all technical activities related to customer and application projects. Your role will include driving the activities of the Application laboratory to complete assigned projects within specified timelines to enhance the lab's output. Moreover, you will support the sales and technical services team to establish a strong new business development pipeline and achieve growth and profitability targets aligned with the company's strategy. Your responsibilities will primarily center around supporting Application Lab activities by proposing and coordinating projects for product development in collaboration with regional and global technical service and business development teams. You will work on product applications in the formulation development of various dosage forms like Tablets, Oral liquids, Oral powders, and Capsules for customer projects. Additionally, you will design and execute experiments to develop new formulations utilizing BASF's excipients and advanced technologies such as hot melt extrusion and spray drying. Analyzing and optimizing existing formulations will also be part of your role, along with conducting pre-formulation studies and stability testing. You will be involved in analytical testing to characterize formulations and excipients using techniques like HPLC, UV spectrophotometer, Dissolution testing, and Rheometer. Customer support will be a key aspect of your job, requiring you to build strong relationships, offer timely support on product application matters, troubleshoot formulation challenges, and provide solutions to enhance product quality. Documentation and reporting will be essential tasks, involving the preparation of detailed reports and presentations on experimental findings, monthly technical reports, and maintaining accurate laboratory records. Project activities will encompass existing and new product launches, participation in product development teams, and collaboration with various stakeholders to support product development and launch activities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, participation in customer meetings, preparation for lab audits, and involvement in training and mentoring activities will also be part of your responsibilities. Ensuring safety and compliance within the laboratory environment is crucial. To qualify for this position, you should have a minimum master's degree in pharmacy (Pharmaceutics), with more than 5 years of formulation experience in the pharmaceutical and excipient industry. Additional experience in analytical developments, technology transfer activities, and commercialization of formulations is preferred. Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical technology, quality standards, and product lifecycle management is desirable. You will be expected to analyze and interpret data from literature reviews effectively to support decision-making processes. Additionally, you will need to understand the intellectual property landscape, develop strategies, search for prior art, and establish proof of concept through experimentation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing Science and Technology (MS&T), Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and production teams across different geographies will be crucial for technology transfer and timely execution of submission batches. Your role will also involve identifying challenges, bottlenecks in development, and providing mitigation proposals at various stages of product development. To be successful in this role, you should hold a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences with at least 1 year of experience or an M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a minimum of 3 years of experience from reputable universities. Prior experience in working with generic pharmaceuticals in regulated markets such as the US, EU, or Canada will be advantageous.
