As an NPD Associate, you will work closely with the NPD lead, operations, and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include researching ingredients, designing formulas, conducting stability testing, and collaborating with other teams to bring innovative skincare, haircare, and body care products to the market. You will collaborate with marketing and R&D teams to identify market needs and develop new product concepts. Additionally, you will research emerging trends and technologies in the skincare industry to incorporate into new formulations. You will assist in developing and presenting product briefs to factories, ensuring clear communication of product specifications, design requirements, and production timelines. Furthermore, you will present product concepts, progress updates, and final outcomes to senior leadership and stakeholders. In terms of formulation design, you will devise product briefs that meet business objectives, brand standards, and consumer preferences. You will select appropriate ingredients based on desired skin benefits and design experimental formulas in the lab, optimizing ingredient ratios for efficacy and stability. You will also conduct pilot scale production to test and refine formulations. You will analyze test data to identify areas for improvement and refine formulations accordingly. Moreover, you will ensure new products adhere to all relevant cosmetic regulations regarding ingredient safety and labeling. It is essential to maintain detailed documentation of the formulation development process, including ingredient sourcing, testing results, and stability studies. Your project management skills will be crucial as you manage multiple NPD projects simultaneously, meeting timelines and budgets. You will be responsible for accurate and timely reporting of daily data, tracking key metrics, analyzing them, and communicating with stakeholders for informed decision-making. Managing relationships with external partners, including suppliers, manufacturers, and contract developers, will also be part of your role. For qualifications, a bachelor's degree in chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field is required, with a master's degree being a plus. You should have 3-5 years of work experience in a similar role within a D2C, retail, or FMCG environment. Strong time management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are essential. Additionally, a passion for skincare, beauty, and wellness is desired.
