Job Summary: To lead and manage the technical operations of the Softlines division, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant testing of textile products in accordance with international standards (ISO, AATCC, ASTM, BIS, etc.), customer requirements, and accreditation bodies (ISO/IEC 17025, NABL, etc.). Key responsibilities and accountabilities: 1. Oversee day-to-day operations of the Softlines testing lab (textile, apparel, home textiles, and accessories). 2. Ensure all testing activities are performed as per defined protocols, SOPs, and quality standards. 3. Troubleshoot technical challenges and guide lab technicians on critical testing issues. 4. Validate and approve test reports and ensure proper interpretation of results 5. Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and other relevant accreditations (NABL, GOTS, OEKO-TEX, etc.). 6. Coordinate with Quality Assurance to manage internal audits, external audits, and proficiency testing. 7. Review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and testing methods regularly. 8. Lead, train, and mentor a team of lab analysts, supervisors, and quality personnel. 9. Evaluate staff performance, identify training needs, and implement upskilling initiatives. 10. Lead development and validation of new testing methods based on industry trends and client demands. 11. Stay up to date with global testing standards and innovations in textile testing. KEY SKILLS 1. Strong knowledge of textile testing standards (ISO, AATCC, ASTM, BIS, GB, etc.) 2. Proficient in physical, chemical, and colorfastness testing of textiles and garments. 3. Experience in handling instruments such as Uster, Tensile Tester, Spectrophotometers, Crockmeter, pH meters, GSM cutters, etc. 4. Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Role & responsibilities Conduct physical, mechanical, and chemical testing of footwear components and finished products as per BIS/NABL standards (e.g., IS 15298, IS 11544, ISO 20345). Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of test results in accordance with NABL/BIS requirements. Operate and calibrate testing instruments such as flex testers, abrasion testers, tensile strength testers, etc. Review and interpret national/international standards and implement relevant updates to testing protocols. Support product development and quality assurance teams by providing technical insights on product conformity and performance. Assist in internal audits, proficiency testing, and maintaining quality management systems as per ISO/IEC 17025. Liaise with clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies for testing, certification, and product approvals. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors or Masters degree in Footwear Technology, Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 2+ years of experience in footwear testing, preferably in a NABL/BIS-accredited lab. Sound knowledge of BIS standards and ISO/IEC 17025 quality management systems. Hands-on experience with physical and chemical testing of footwear. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent documentation and reporting skills. Familiarity with safety footwear, sports footwear, and casual shoe categories is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with international testing standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO, EN). Exposure to compliance audits and certification processes. Training or certification in laboratory quality management.
