Job Description (JD) tailored for an Accountant in a Food Distribution Company, incorporating all the responsibilities you've listed: Job Title: Accountant Industry: Food Distribution (FMCG) Location: Kishangarh, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi Experience Required: Minimum 3 years in FMCG sector Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with a strong background in Tally, accounting principles, and GST compliance. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure timely billing and collections, maintain accurate financial records, and support the management with regular financial analysis and reporting. Key Responsibilities: Tally & Accounting Functions: Full proficiency in Tally ERP – all accounting entries and features Create accurate sales invoices and purchase entries in Tally Extract various financial and inventory reports from Tally as required Perform monthly reconciliations of stock with Tally data Prepare payroll and ensure timely salary disbursements Handle GST filing, returns, and compliance Financial & Operational Duties:Keep track of pending payments and follow up with vendors/customers via email and phone Alert management proactively on due or upcoming payments Perform physical filing and collection of bills, invoices, and expenditures Maintain and update daily expense records Collect and verify supporting documents for expenses Reporting & Analysis:Prepare monthly income and expenditure reports with detailed breakdown Provide analysis on major expense categories and suggest areas of optimization Assist in the preparation of reports required by auditors or management Qualifications & Skills:Graduate in Commerce, Accounting, or related field Minimum 3 years experience in FMCG sector Excellent knowledge of Tally ERP Working knowledge of GST rules and filing procedures Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficient in MS Excel, basic email drafting, and follow-ups Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Preferred Qualities: Integrity and confidentiality Ownership of tasks and proactive communication Familiarity with inventory management is a plus
