Job Title: Foil Winder Operator Department: Production Location: Dobaspet, Bangalore. Reports To: Production Supervisor Job Type: Full-time Experience Required: 2-12 years (Only from Transformer manufacturing) Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Foil Winder Operator to operate and maintain foil winding machines used in the manufacturing of distribution and power transformers. The ideal candidate should have experience with winding foil coils (typically aluminum or copper), ensuring quality, precision, and compliance with design specifications. Key Responsibilities: Operate foil winding machines to manufacture low voltage or high voltage transformer coils. Set up machine parameters according to coil design and engineering drawings. Align and feed copper / aluminum foil and insulation paper onto the winding machine. Monitor winding process to maintain accurate tension, layer alignment, and insulation placement. Inspect coils during and after winding for dimensional accuracy, visual quality, and adherence to technical specifications. Identify and report any defects or process deviations. Perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on winding machines. Record production data and maintain documentation for traceability and quality compliance. Follow safety standards and maintain cleanliness in the work area. Collaborate with the quality control team and supervisors for continuous improvement. Required Skills and Qualifications: High School Diploma / ITI / Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. 2+ years of experience in foil winding operations in a transformer or electrical manufacturing setup. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and winding schedules. Familiarity with various winding materials, insulation types, and machine control systems. Attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and quality-conscious mindset. Basic knowledge of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in winding both LV and HV transformer coils. Exposure to lean manufacturing or 5S environments. Ability to handle small mechanical adjustments and machine calibration. Working Conditions: Factory/Shopfloor environment. Standing and manual handling required. Use of PPE as per company guidelines. Salary: As per industry standards and based on experience.
