Role Overview: Ashvini Magnets Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering & NPD Lead to drive new product development from inquiry receipt to production readiness. The role will involve feasibility analysis, costing, quotations, vendor development, mould development, APQP, FMEA, and complete documentation under IATF 16949 standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. New Enquiry & Feasibility Analysis: Receive, review, and analyse new customer inquiries. Conduct technical feasibility studies considering material, design, and manufacturing constraints. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, production, quality) to assess capability and capacity. 2. Costing, Quotation & Vendor Development: Prepare cost estimates based on material, process, tooling, and overhead costs. Develop competitive quotations with justifications and submit them to customers. Identify and develop vendors for raw materials, moulds, and mould parts. Ensure cost-effective sourcing while maintaining quality standards. 3. Mould Development & Technology Documentation: Work closely with design team, toolmakers/vendors for mould design & development. Work closely with toolmakers, machine vendors, and material suppliers to ensure the highest quality moulds. Oversee mould manufacturing, prototype development, testing and validation to ensure reliability and durability. Validate moulds with trial runs, performance testing, and process adjustments before full-scale production. Optimize mould performance for cycle time reduction, defect minimization, and production stability. Maintain Mould Technology Sheets for all components. Troubleshoot molding process issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives. 4. APQP, PPAP & Documentation (IATF 16949): Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for new projects. Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, Work Instructions, and other quality documents. Conduct and oversee Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for risk assessment. Prepare and maintain complete PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation. Conduct FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), and SPC (Statistical Process Control) to improve process robustness. Prepare detailed process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and ISO 9001 requirements. Support customer audits and drive corrective actions for quality improvement. 5. Sample Submission & Validation: • Ensure timely submission of samples to customers at various stages like T0, T1, T2, etc. • Coordinate with the quality and production teams to ensure compliance with customer expectations. • Address feedback and modifications based on sample evaluations. 6. Cross-Functional Coordination & Customer Interaction: • Work closely with production, quality, and purchase teams to ensure smooth project execution. • Act as the technical point of contact for customers during development stages. • Support customer audits and technical discussions. 7. Continuous Improvement & Compliance: • Optimize existing manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement. Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. • Work on continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing and Six Sigma projects. • Implement automation and process innovations to enhance production capabilities. • Ensure adherence to IATF 16949 & ISO standards in all engineering documentation. • Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
