Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head Architect to lead our architectural department, overseeing the design and execution of our high-rise residential projects in Chennai. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the architectural vision, leading a team of talented architects, ensuring design integrity, and collaborating closely with various stakeholders to deliver exceptional residential developments from concept to completion. This role demands a strong leader with a deep understanding of local regulations, sustainable practices, and the dynamics of high-rise construction. Key Responsibilities: Design Leadership & Vision: Define and articulate the architectural vision and design philosophy for all high-rise residential projects. Lead the conceptualization, design development, and detailed architectural planning phases. Ensure design innovation, aesthetic appeal, functionality, and cost-effectiveness across all projects. Team Management & Mentorship: Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of architects, designers, and drafting professionals. Foster a culture of creativity, continuous learning, and high performance within the architectural department. Manage workload distribution, performance reviews, and professional development of the team. Project Oversight & Management: Oversee the entire architectural lifecycle of multiple high-rise residential projects concurrently. Ensure all architectural drawings, specifications, and documentation are accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NBC, local CMDA/DTCP norms). Conduct design reviews and provide critical feedback to enhance project quality and efficiency. Collaboration & Coordination: Collaborate extensively with internal departments including structural engineering, MEP, sales & marketing, construction, and procurement. Coordinate with external consultants (landscape architects, interior designers, lighting consultants, etc.) to integrate specialized designs seamlessly. Act as the primary architectural point of contact for project stakeholders. Regulatory Compliance & Approvals: Ensure all designs and construction methodologies comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, environmental standards, and other statutory requirements specific to Chennai. Liaise with regulatory bodies (CMDA, DTCP, Chennai Corporation, Fire & Safety departments) for necessary approvals and permits. Quality Assurance & Value Engineering: Implement robust quality control procedures for all architectural deliverables. Actively participate in value engineering exercises to optimize design solutions without compromising quality or aesthetics. Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Present design concepts and project updates to management, clients, and investors. Address client feedback and incorporate changes while maintaining design integrity and project viability. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a recognized institution. Council of Architecture (COA) registration is preferable. Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in architectural design and project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (e.g., Principal Architect, Associate Director, or Head of Department). Demonstrable and extensive experience specifically with high-rise residential projects in Chennai is essential. Proficiency in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite. BIM proficiency is highly preferred. Strong understanding of building materials, construction techniques, and sustainable building practices. In-depth knowledge of NBC (National Building Code) and Chennai's local building bylaws and regulations (CMDA/DTCP).
