Job description Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diploma / Graduate Civil Engineer with 8 to 10 year’s experience to and manage the construction of Residential buildings projects in CHENNAI & ALL OVER TAMILNADU - both structural and interior works. The ideal candidate will have expertise in planning, and overseeing construction and interior projects, ensuring that all aspects of the building process meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of residential projects, managing teams, and collaborating with Architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client specifications. Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Planning & Design: Review architectural and structural designs, ensuring they meet safety standards, regulations, and client requirements. Participate in the design and planning phases of residential buildings, considering both exterior and interior construction elements. Coordinate with Architects, MEP engineers, and interior designers for smooth integration of various design aspects. 2. Site Management & Supervision: Oversee the day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring all activities are executed as per the project plan and drawings. Supervise construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols. Ensure that all construction works (including interiors) comply with building codes, standards, and environmental regulations. 3. Project Execution & Quality Control: Lead the construction process for both structural works and interior fit-out, including material selection, scheduling, and cost management. Ensure proper implementation of construction techniques for foundations, walls, slabs, roofs, and other structural elements. Oversee interior finishes like flooring, partitioning, tiling, false ceilings, painting, etc., maintaining high-quality standards. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure all works are on track and meet the required specifications. 4. Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all safety measures are strictly adhered to on the construction site. Conduct regular safety meetings, risk assessments, and safety audits. Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning laws, and environmental guidelines. 5. Coordination & Communication: Liaise with clients, contractors, and external consultants to maintain clear communication and ensure project requirements are met. Provide regular progress reports to management and clients, highlighting any issues or delays. Address any client concerns or changes to the scope of work promptly and professionally. 6. Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and guide junior engineers and site supervisors in their professional development. Provide technical leadership and support in solving complex engineering challenges. Foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment. Qualifications: Education: Diploma / B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 4-5 years in a role in residential buildings construction and interiors. Skills: Strong knowledge of design, building materials, and interior construction. Proficient in AutoCAD. Excellent project management, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret drawings, and specifications. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions. Strong leadership and team management skills. Desirable Traits: Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and precision. Excellent communication Skills in HINDI, ENGISH AND TAMIL and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, contractors, and team members. Strong work ethic, ability to meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
