Flight Physics Engineer

Job Description: Role Overview: You will be working with one of our clients, an established drone start-up, as a Flight Physics Engineer (UAV). Your role will involve performing conceptual and preliminary design for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) based on stakeholder requirements. You will collaborate to develop certifiable systems for electric aviation, utilize aircraft design tools, conduct hand calculations for aircraft performance estimates, work with the manufacturing team, devise testing methodologies, and utilize AI/ML algorithms for optimization. Key Responsibilities: - Perform conceptual and preliminary design for UAVs based on stakeholder requirements. - Collaborate to develop certifiable systems for electric aviation. - Utilize in-house aircraft design tools and conduct hand calculations for performance estimates. - Work with the manufacturing team to realize design constraints. - Devise testing methodologies and utilize AI/ML algorithms for optimization. Qualification Required: - Bachelors (or) Masters (or) PhD with relevant experience in Aerospace related domain. - Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in the field. - Expertise in aerodynamic analysis tools, electric and fuel-based propulsion systems, flight dynamics, and control calculations. - Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and meet ambitious deadlines. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail. - Excellent communication skills and technical writing abilities. - Strong basics in Python or C/C++ for aircraft sizing, performance, and optimization calculations.
