As a Bus Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining our modern bus fleet across Australia, ensuring a high standard of safety and reliability for our passengers. Your role as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic will involve collaborating with a supportive team to meet deadlines and keep the buses road-ready with timely repairs to ensure drivers stay on schedule. You will also be required to follow a kilometre-based service schedule, conduct fleet inspections for RMS compliance, and address any urgent repairs promptly. In this role, you should be self-motivated, well-presented, and have the ability to prioritize tasks and manage your time effectively to meet current requirements. Having a keen eye for detail, the ability to read construction drawings, and excellent communication skills to interact with team members, management, and clients are essential. Strong leadership skills are also important as you will be expected to mentor and guide a team of tradespeople. Basic computer skills and a proactive, team-focused attitude are necessary for this position, along with a strong commitment to workplace health and safety. You should be able to perform well under pressure and possess the ability to pass a pre-employment medical examination and National Police Clearance. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the right candidate, and international candidates must demonstrate English language proficiency, often by passing an IELTS or equivalent test. Additionally, you must hold a minimum MR driver's license or higher to work proactively in an autonomous environment. This is a full-time position with day shift schedules, requiring you to work in person. Key Responsibilities As a Commercial Tyre Technician Fit and maintain tyres for commercial vehicle fleets, including roadside breakdowns and on-site service. Manage stock effectively. Work collaboratively with depot colleagues to support customers. Participate in on-call rota and flexible working patterns as required.
