JOB DESCRIPTION SHIFT SUPERVISOR - Title : Shift Supervisor Designation: Engineer Reports to : Production Manager Direct report : Production process engineer CTC : 4 to 5 lakhs per annum Education : Diploma /B.E Mechanical Job Purpose : To manage the shift and effective manpower handling. To ensure the smooth running of the production process. To ensure that all products are produced to the specified specifications. And also, it is mandatory to work in VMC machine settings, tool settings, and fixture selection and settings. Target and deadlines are met to achieve the orders. To ensure that all direct staff comply with the companys Health and Safety procedures. Key Responsibilities To take full responsibility of the shift in terms of management of staff, management of production and quality targets and to ensure the smooth running of the production processes To take full responsibility for the quality and product that is produced within the shift inline with the companys quality systems, processes and procedures Manage, develop and motivate direct reporting staff Monitor, measure and report on production-related process performance, general issues To ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff To ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the company in line with the companies Health and Safety policy Problem-solving and troubling shooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand To work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective communications tools To ensure that the training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift To have an active role in the companys continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace All employees are responsible for ensuring company resources are used in an effective manner to ensure the best-operating costs Be able to make appropriate decisions while following the organizational structure Maintaining a high level of timekeeping is of the essence. PERSON SPECIFICATION SHIFT SUPERVISOR Personality: This is a role for somebody dynamic, energetic, self-driven, results-oriented, and above all who has a positive can do outlook with a clear focus on deliverables. We are looking for a highly organised, naturally forward planning, logical, structured thinker who critically assesses his/her own performance. Mature yet young-at-heart, or young with a mature mindin either case, you will require boundless energy and enthusiasm, yet be credible. Empathic communication skills are essential. Personal Situation: Able to commute reliably to office bases at Ace Inotec. Able to work extended hours on occasions when required. Must be able to work shifts, attended meetings. Specific Job Skills: Able to communicate and motivate coherently both verbally and via written media. Understands the principles of manufacturing, and has strong man-management skills. Strong leadership planning and organizational skills essential. Work experience: Minimum 4 years working in a high mass volume manufacturing environment as a Shift Supervisor or within an equivalent capacity. Ideally from a mechanical Background. The candidate must be proficient in 2D and 3D programming , setup, and operation of VMC machines to manufacture precision aerospace components. Key Responsibilities: Set up, operate, and monitor Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) for high-precision aerospace parts. Develop and optimize 2D and 3D CNC programs using CAM software (such as MasterCAM and SolidCAM). Modify and input programs using G/M codes for Fanuc/Siemens/Heidenhain controllers. Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T symbols. Select tools, jigs, and fixtures as per job requirement. Conduct first article inspection and in-process quality checks. Maintain required documentation, including setup sheets, tool lists, and inspection records. Ensure parts are manufactured to specified tolerances and surface finish requirements. Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to improve cycle time and quality. Maintain machine health and housekeeping, and follow safety protocols. Required Skills: Strong hands-on experience in VMC machine setting and 2D/3D CNC programming . Deep understanding of G-codes, M-codes , and toolpath simulation. Expertise in working with aerospace-grade materials. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T , and process documents. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM. Knowledge of cutting parameters , tool selection, and process optimization. Experience in AS9100 or ISO 9001:2015 quality environments. Preferred Qualifications: ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Tool & Die Making, or Production Engineering. 2D & 3D CAM programming certification or training. Previous experience in the aerospace, defense, or oil & gas industry.
