Successful candidates will be part of a systems and R&D team that develops embedded camera and imaging solutions. The job responsibilities may include a subset of the following: - Developing fixed-point implementations and C/C++ models for the image processing and associated infrastructure modules (to be ported in HW) - Supporting HW verification & SW development via behavioural model test vectors - Image processing algorithm complexity optimization and quality trade-offs Minimum qualifications: - Bachelors + 3yrs relevant experience, Master's + 2yrs relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and/or closely related field - Working experience in algorithm design and fixed-point implementation. - Strong knowledge in data structures and working experience with C/C++ programming and Python - Familiarity with UNIX/Win/Linux computing platforms Preferred qualifications: - Background in digital signal processing, statistics and data analysis - Working experience with image processing algorithms. As an Embedded Radar AI/ML Engineer at Aptiv, you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge perception systems essential for autonomous vehicles. Your primary responsibility will involve designing and implementing state-of-the-art radar and AI/ML technologies on embedded platforms to create market-leading perception solutions that support Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD) features. Your key responsibilities will include designing and developing AI-focused perception systems for automotive radar applications, optimizing and implementing Aptiv's advanced Radar ML algorithms on embedded platforms, and creating efficient real-time integrations of complex algorithms for AI System-on-Chips (SoCs). You will also be tasked with defining clean interfaces between algorithm components and embedded systems, developing tools and methodologies to enhance development workflows, and evaluating hardware platforms that meet AI/ML requirements. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field. Additionally, you must have proven programming expertise in Python with at least 2 years of professional experience, demonstrated experience in developing deep learning solutions, and a working knowledge of embedded software development principles and constraints. Strong analytical skills, a solid mathematical foundation, and excellent communication skills are also essential for success in this position. Preferred qualifications for this role include proficiency in C/C++ programming, experience with code optimization and low-level embedded architectures, knowledge of instruction sets, memory architectures, FPGAs, DSPs, and AI accelerators, and hands-on experience with Texas Instruments hardware and Deep Learning Software Library. Moreover, a track record of collaborative software development in team environments, automotive industry experience, and familiarity with automotive software development standards and processes will be advantageous.
