As a Gensler Technical Designer, your role involves combining creativity and technical knowledge to focus on project delivery and producing functionally beautiful designs for clients. You will collaborate with office and regional technical leaders, drive project delivery, and develop delivery and process improvement strategies. With exceptional design skills and a background in architecture or design, you will work on innovative project work. You will work with Design Directors and project teams on conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, and construction documents. Your responsibilities include conducting site visits, documenting processes, managing client communication, coordinating with consultants, and producing graphic presentations and detailed construction drawings. You will resolve complex design issues with practical solutions, support sustainability targets, and lead climate-focused analysis for projects. Qualifications for this role include an advanced degree in Architecture or Design, at least 10 years of relevant experience, proficiency in design modeling tools like Revit and Rhino, and experience with software such as Adobe Creative Suite. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, outstanding graphic presentation skills, and the ability to lead a team are essential. Knowledge of sustainable design principles, accreditation in rating systems like LEED and WELL, and experience in sustainable design projects are preferable. In terms of Design Technology Qualifications, essential expertise in Autodesk Revit, strategic planning for BIM projects, collaboration in the BIM context, and information management tools is required. Desirable qualifications include knowledge of Rhinoceros, interoperability workflows between Rhino & Revit, real-time rendering processes, computational design applications like Grasshopper and Dynamo, simulation principles, and VR walkthroughs for client presentations. Applications commonly used include Revit, Rhino, BIM360, Grasshopper, Dynamo, Insight, Vray, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, among others.
