As a Supervisor in the fabrication department, your key responsibilities will include: - Allocating daily work to operators based on the plan, taking into consideration their skills and available resources. - Monitoring and checking the progress of jobs to ensure records are maintained accurately. - Arranging resources such as tools and consumables to ensure smooth workflow during shifts and for upcoming jobs. - Troubleshooting fabrication activities including cutting, bending, fit-up, welding, pre-heat/post heat/PWHT, and painting to meet drawing and plan requirements. - Maintaining a harmonious work environment with unionized workmen, ensuring discipline and a state-of-the-art manufacturing shop decorum. - Reporting daily job progress and critical events to IS and seniors, with a problem-solving decision-making approach. - Understanding welding symbols, weld groove design, weld distortion and control, and weld visual inspection. - Reading and interpreting engineering drawings. - Implementing welding techniques such as GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW. - Managing material and related consumables as per drawing and process requirements. - Overseeing the welding and welder qualification process. - Ensuring safety in welding operations. - Implementing fit-up and sequential welding techniques. - Managing pre-heat, post-heat, and PWHT processes. - Understanding the effects of welding parameters on weld quality. - Differentiating between C.S., S.S., and A.S. welding processes. - Having user-level capabilities in using M.S.
