The role of Mechanical Inspector involves inspecting subsea umbilical termination assemblies to ensure compliance with welding, machining, and overall mechanical quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. Your key responsibilities will include performing mechanical inspections on umbilical termination assemblies, validating dimensional accuracy using precision tools, assessing the quality of assembly processes, conducting visual checks, and assisting in evaluating test results. You will also be responsible for ensuring alignment with applicable codes and standards, recording inspection data, maintaining traceable documentation, raising and tracking non-conformance reports, and assisting in implementing corrective measures. Additionally, you will interface with production, QA/QC, and engineering teams to resolve mechanical quality issues, provide feedback for process improvements, participate in audits, and support safe manufacturing practices. To qualify for this role, you should have a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, a minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical inspection within oil & gas, subsea, or industrial manufacturing sectors, knowledge of welding processes, machining techniques, and associated inspection methods, and certification in welding/mechanical inspection (e.g., CSWIP, AWS-CWI) is preferred. Experience with umbilical systems or subsea components is an added advantage. You should possess a strong understanding of mechanical drawings and GD&T, proficiency in using inspection tools and reporting software, a solid grasp of manufacturing and quality control principles, effective communication and teamwork skills, and be physically capable of performing inspections in various working conditions. The work conditions for this role involve being based on a manufacturing shop floor and outdoor yard environment, and may involve physical activities such as climbing, lifting, and inspecting in confined spaces. Please note that while this position may involve interaction with electrical assemblies, the emphasis of the role is strictly mechanical, focusing on welding, machining, and mechanical fit-up inspection as core competencies.,
