Firmware Engineer-II (IoT)

As a Firmware Engineer - II (IoT) at Vanix in Hyderabad, you will play a crucial role in developing, optimizing, and debugging firmware for IoT devices. Your primary focus will be on microcontrollers such as Quectel, ST, Qualcomm, Nordic, TI, NXP, and similar SoCs used in GPS, GSM, and CAN systems. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing location tracking system stacks, implementing communication protocols, designing applications for IoT use cases, and ensuring energy-efficient operation of IoT devices. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless integration of hardware and software components, enabling the delivery of high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, optimize, and debug firmware for IoT devices using microcontrollers like Quectel, ST, Qualcomm, and more. - Maintain and enhance location tracking system stacks, including peripherals and sensors. - Implement communication protocols such as HTTPs, MQTTs, I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN. - Build interrupt-based and polling-based mechanisms for robust firmware performance. - Collaborate with hardware design and software development teams for seamless integration. - Design applications for IoT use cases, ensuring efficient system-level integration. - Apply power optimization techniques for energy-efficient IoT device operation. - Implement Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) updates for seamless device maintenance. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field (Masters degree preferred). - Minimum 3+ years of experience in IoT firmware development or embedded systems. - Proficiency in C and MicroPython programming languages. - Hands-on experience with microcontrollers like STM32, Quectel modules, Qualcomm SoCs, etc. - Familiarity with IoT security best practices, communication protocols, and power optimization techniques. - Experience in FOTA implementation and cross-functional collaboration.
