As a Civil Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to oversee area grading and land development activities. You will be required to study plot plans and lay out drawings, ensuring their accurate execution in the field. Collaborating with surveyors to establish plot boundaries, initial RL, and quantification of cutting/filling work will be a crucial part of your role. In addition, you will be responsible for sending soil samples for OMC and MDD testing, conducting regular field compaction tests, and monitoring the compaction of resources. You will need to report any deficiencies in mobilization of resources by contractors to your superiors, ensuring the proper level of cutting/filling activities. Furthermore, you will verify contractors" Daily Progress Reports (DPR) and update the Project control team accordingly. It will be your duty to ensure the day-to-day execution aligns with project standards, specifications, and drawings. You will also need to certify the correctness of rebar bending, inspect rebar binding work, formwork, scaffolding, staging, handrails, and ladder fixing for work at heights. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing proper compaction of concreting, field quality testing of concreting, cube sampling, surface rendering, finishing for concrete, and fireproof surfaces. Verifying the correct positioning and alignment of embedded items before concrete pouring and ensuring proper compaction of backfilling will also fall under your purview. To qualify for this role, you must hold a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering. A degree in Civil Engineering requires 6-8 years of experience, while a diploma necessitates 14-16 years of experience. Experience in Refinery/Petrochemical construction is desirable. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in general plant and equipment layout, area development layout, Concrete technology, scaffolding, staging, and formwork safety, basic surveying and levelling, underground layout, safety precautions in excavation work, fireproofing materials and methodologies, and different symbols used in civil drawings.,
