Asst. Track Machine Operator is responsible for operating specialized track maintenance machines such as tamping machines, ballast regulators, dynamic track stabilizers, and other on-track equipment. The operator ensures that railway tracks are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards by performing precision operations during scheduled track maintenance or upgrades. Key Responsibilities: • Operate various on-track machines used for rail maintenance and track geometry correction (e.g., tampers, regulators, dynamic stabilizers, etc.). • Conduct pre-operational inspections of the machine to ensure mechanical functionality and safety. • Follow track maintenance schedules and instructions from supervisors or railway engineers. • Monitor track geometry readings and adjust machine settings accordingly. • Communicate effectively with the ground crew, signal personnel, and control centres to ensure safety. • Perform routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting of the machine. • Record operational data and maintenance logs accurately. • Adhere strictly to railway safety protocols and operating rules. • Assist in loading/unloading the machine onto/off the track if needed.
