Youll assist project managers / technical leads with the execution of a broad range of hydrogeological/hydrological technical services which may include involvement in the groundwater components of Environmental Impact Assessments, operational water management and closure/reclamation for oil sands/mining industry Youll provide technical support for geological and hydrogeological data analyses, visualization and development of conceptual site models. Youll apply hydrogeological principles to groundwater projects using conceptual and numerical modelling software (groundwater and integrated surface water-groundwater models). Youll develop techniques and methods to create solutions for groundwater problems. Youll perform specialist numerical modelling and simulations in support of engineering projects. Youll prepare technical documentation to support analytical and numerical studies. Youll be a self-starter and be able to take ownership of project tasks using technical knowledge. Youll contribute to technical solutions spanning multiple engineering disciplines as well as wider technical communities across Canada and around world in a collaborative environment; Youll take an active role in working with a mentor and other team members to support your individual career progression and growth Qualifications Environmental / Mining Engineering or related field; With Minimum 2 to 7 years if experience. Experience in numerical analyses for engineering applications; An understanding of numerical methods including finite difference, finite element and control volume finite element approaches; Proficiency in the use of commercial numerical groundwater modelling codes is an asset (FEFLOW, MODFLOW, HydroGeoSphere, etc.); Experience with visualization software (GIS, Surfer, Leapfrog, CAD, etc.); Experience with general-purpose scripting/programming is an asset (Python, VBA, etc.); Experience in global optimization and developing complex 3D geometries for numerical modelling purposes; Experience with parameter estimation and global optimization software; Understanding of data science and analytics, and practical applications in the field of hydrogeology; Direct exposure to machine learning would be an asset; Some understanding and experience with physical hydrogeology would be an asset; Demonstrates critical analytical and strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Self-motivated, curious and well organized Ability to work in a team environment.
