Job Description

As the Financial Operations at Amherst, you will play a vital role in supporting core accounting processes and operational initiatives within the organization. Your self-motivation, drive, and intellectual curiosity as an accounting professional will be instrumental in providing strong leadership to our Utilities team and ensuring the smooth running of the department. **Key Responsibilities:** - Oversee and manage various aspects of the general ledger accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and company policies. - Lead and support a team responsible for executing high-volume, deadline-driven accounting operations. - Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of General Ledger and Cash accounts on a monthly basis. - Manage and coordinate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and internal financial reporting. **Essential Capabilities:** - **Executional Excellence:** You have the organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, high sense of responsibility, and general skill set to take on a wide range of high-priority projects.
