Job Description

The Finance Associate - AP & Compliance position in Coimbatore within the Finance department, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, is a full-time onsite role with flexible work timings. You may be required to work from 4 PM to 12 AM and/or 10 AM to 6 PM depending on work allocation. Your responsibilities will include processing invoices by receiving, reviewing, and verifying them along with supporting documentation. You will be responsible for entering invoices into the accounting system, ensuring proper approvals, and coding invoices to the appropriate cost centers or GL accounts. Additionally, you will perform quarterly reconciliation of vendor statements and accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of AP ledger accounts. Investigating and resolving unmatched or aging invoices, as well as coordinating with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies or disputes, will also be part of your role. Tax compliance will be a crucial aspect of this position, involving the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns including Income Tax, GST, and TDS in a timely manner. You will also coordinate with tax authorities for audits, assessments, and disputes when necessary, staying updated with changes in tax regulations to ensure the company's adherence to such laws. In terms of RBI compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to RBI regulations, especially under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) for foreign remittances, investment inflows, and repatriation. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with foreign exchange regulations, preparing and filing necessary reports and documents with the RBI, and staying updated on RBI's guidelines and circulars will also be part of your duties. Furthermore, STPI compliance will involve timely filing of STPI reports, including quarterly returns, monthly returns, and specific forms required by the STPI. You will be expected to keep accurate records of exports made by the company under the STPI scheme, ensuring that the company claims all eligible benefits and complies with the required documentation and reporting processes. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in commerce, Finance, Accounting, or be a semi-qualified professional in a related field, or possess equivalent experience. In-depth knowledge of Indian taxation laws, prior experience in tax filings, FEMA/RBI compliance, and STPI-related documentation is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance software/tools, excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines are essential skills for this position. Personal attributes such as high ethical standards, integrity, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, good problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude will also be valued in this role.,
