Role & responsibilities : The Environmental Field Chemist is responsible for conducting environmental sampling, field monitoring, and supporting laboratory analysis in compliance with CPCB/SPCB, ISO/IEC 17025, and international standards. The role ensures reliable data collection, adherence to safety protocols, and accurate reporting for regulatory and client requirements. Collect samples of air, water, wastewater, soil, sludge, stack emissions, and noise as per guidelines. Operate, calibrate, and maintain field instruments (samplers, analyzers, meters). Record in-situ parameters (pH, DO, turbidity, flow, etc.) and maintain chain-of-custody. Ensure proper sample preservation, transportation, and traceability. Adhere to safety protocols and use PPE while working in industrial/field environments. Coordinate with laboratory teams for analysis and reporting. Prepare and submit field data sheets, logs, and monitoring reports. Support compliance monitoring, environmental audits, and client projects. Preferred candidate profile B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related discipline. Knowledge of APHA, ASTM, BIS, CPCB/SPCB guidelines. Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems preferred.
