Job Title: Senior Scientist Textile Technology Location: Thane, Mumbai Department: Pilot Plant (Incubation Center – COE Sportech) Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Scientist in Textile Technology to lead and contribute to research and development projects focused on advancing textile materials, processing methods, and product performance along with ability to work in the Incubation Center – COE Sportech. Key Responsibilities: To execute & formulate R&D projects in textile materials, fiber science, fabric formation, and textile finishing. Conduct experimental design, lab-scale and pilot-scale trials, and data analysis to validate concepts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and marketing. Author technical reports, research publications, and patent filings. Evaluate the performance of new textiles for properties such as strength, durability, breathability, thermal insulation, moisture management, etc. Develop and optimize processes involving weaving, knitting, nonwovens, dyeing, coating, lamination, and finishing technologies. Stay abreast of industry trends, academic research, and emerging technologies in sustainable and smart textiles. Ability to work in the Incubation Center – COE Sportech (Product Development). Mentor junior scientists and technicians and provide technical guidance to the team. Qualifications: At least Master’s degree in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering or related field. 2+ years (Ph.D.) or 5+ years (Master’s) of industrial or academic R&D experience in textile science Technical Textiles/ Wool Industry. Deep understanding of fiber chemistry, yarn and fabric manufacturing, and textile finishing technologies. Hands-on experience with machinery handling & Product Development. Demonstrated ability to manage complex R&D projects and deliver results. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Strong publication or patent record is a plus.
