Fiber and CCTV Technician

As a Fiber Installation Technician, your role will involve the installation and maintenance of a Fiber Optics FTTH network. You will be responsible for tasks such as installing, repairing, and resolving fiber optic systems to ensure they are functioning correctly. Your duties will also include taking care of fiber splicing, rectifying problem areas, splicing and terminating SM fiber, and performing various fiber tests using equipment such as OTDR, power meter/laser source, and scopes. Additionally, you will be expected to perform basic to complex installations, troubleshooting, and repairs of fiber systems with minimal supervision. Accessing fiber optic splice enclosures from a bucket truck and preparing, tray, and splicing fiber optic cables of varying counts will also be part of your responsibilities. Installing demarcation enclosures, switches, and other telecom equipment, along with demonstrating fiber optic test and troubleshooting abilities, are key aspects of this role. Other duties may be assigned as needed. **Key Responsibilities:** - Installation and maintenance of Fiber Optics FTTH network - Repairing and resolving fiber optic systems - Splicing and terminating SM fiber - Performing fiber tests such as OTDR, power meter/laser source, and scopes - Installing demarcation enclosures, switches, and telecom equipment - Troubleshooting fiber optic systems - Performing physical tasks outdoors including wiring and cabling **Qualifications Required:** - Previous experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance - Knowledge of splicing and terminating SM fiber - Ability to perform fiber tests and troubleshoot issues - Familiarity with installing demarcation enclosures and telecom equipment - Physical ability to perform outdoor tasks such as wiring and cabling In addition to the Fiber Installation role, you may also be required to perform tasks related to CCTV systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair of cameras, monitors, recording devices, and networking equipment. Troubleshooting system issues, making repairs or upgrades, designing installations, and ensuring systems function properly will be part of your responsibilities in this area.
