Role & responsibilities Responsible for the Fitness for service Assessment to evaluate the structural integrity of components and their suitability for continuous service for pressure systems, pipelines and structures. Provide effective technical advice to the inspection team, ensuring threats are evaluated, procedures are followed, and work is completed in accordance with the companys technical procedures. Carry out FFS calculations, actual corrosion rate and remaining lifetime calculations, recommend repairs if any. Provide a quantitative measure of the structural integrity of a component containing flaws. Provide guidelines which can be used to make run-repair-replace decisions. Assisting plant management with identifying appropriate mitigation actions to ensure that the component can be operated safely. Act as focal point for FFS expertise. Carryout Fitness for service Assessment that can be used to support design, fabrication, operation, change of service and lifetime extension. Coordinate and participate in periodic reviews. Providing reliable solutions that help improve safety, reliability, and profitability. Optimize inspection based on detailed remaining life evaluations. Design effective temporary or permanent repairs. Interface with failure analysis and non-destructive examination specialists. Liaise and manage subcontractors day-to-day activities. Providing FFS assessments for Down-rating damaged equipment below design. Assist plant management in reducing duration of outage and shutdown. Ensure the effective application of FFS methodologies to maximize inspection intervals. Responsible for the design, analysis, and detailing of pressure vessels and piping systems as per ASME, API, and related codes. Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, material specifications, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Review client requirements, provide design solutions, and support project documentation and approval processes. Conduct stress analysis, material selection, and design optimization to meet project requirements, budgets, and regulatory compliance standards Preferred candidate profile Skills / Qualifications: A relevant engineering degree preferably in Corrosion Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy. Minimum 5 years of specific experience in Fitness for Service assessment. Experience in engineering mechanic evaluations of pressure equipment, storage tanks and piping using API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, a solid understanding of and experience with the national codes and standards governing the design, repair, and alteration of pressure equipment, and the knowledge and ability to perform and document detailed FFS analyses in accordance with the appropriate codes. Experience and knowledge of FFS software systems. Thorough understanding of NDT techniques and in-service application of NDT. Thorough knowledge of pressure vessel and pipe work design and inspection codes of practice. Knowledge of related standards/regulatory requirements. Plant inspection or API certification, with associated experience. Versatile and flexible team player with good verbal and written communication skills. Good command of English language.
