Role Objective

design innovation, market relevance, and strong execution from concept to production

Key Responsibilities

Design & Collection Development

• Research global and domestic fashion trends, fabrics, colors, silhouettes, and prints relevant to KAZO’s target customer.
  
• Develop seasonal design concepts, mood boards, color stories, and themes.
  
• Design styles for categories such as

  dresses, tops, bottoms, co-ords, jumpsuits, and occasion wear

  .
• Create detailed

  sketches, CADs, tech packs, and measurement specs

  .
• Ensure designs are

  commercially viable, cost-effective, and scalable

  for mass production.

Fabric & Sourcing Coordination

• Work closely with the sourcing and merchandising teams to select appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments.
  
• Coordinate with vendors for fabric development, sampling, and approvals.
  
• Ensure fabric quality, color accuracy, and design feasibility.
  

Sampling & Production Support

• Monitor the sampling process and ensure samples meet design intent and quality standards.
  
• Conduct fit sessions and suggest necessary corrections.
  
• Support production teams to resolve design-related issues during bulk manufacturing.
  

Merchandising & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with

  merchandising, buying, production, and retail teams

  to ensure timely and successful launches.
• Align designs with budget, margin, and delivery timelines.
  
• Participate in line reviews and pre-buy meetings.
  

Brand & Market Alignment

• Maintain KAZO’s brand aesthetics and positioning across all collections.
  
• Analyze sell-through reports, customer feedback, and market trends to improve future designs.
  
• Stay updated with competitor offerings and fast-fashion movements.
  

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of

  women’s western wear and fast-fashion retail

  .
• Excellent sense of color, fit, styling, and detailing.
  
• Proficiency in

  Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and MS Excel

  .
• Good knowledge of

  fabrics, garment construction, and costing

  .
• Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree/Diploma in

  Fashion Design

  from a reputed institute (NIFT / Pearl / equivalent preferred).

• 3–7 years

  of experience in a women’s apparel fashion brand or retail house.
• Experience in

  high-volume, fast-turnaround collections

  is highly desirable.

• Timely completion of seasonal collections.
  
• Sell-through performance of designed styles.
  
• Sample approval cycle time.
  
• Alignment with budgeted cost and margins.
  
• Trend relevance and customer acceptance.
