FASHION DESIGNER

You will be responsible for designing and producing womens and mens apparel and accessories with a primary focus on woven fabrics and prints. Your role will involve planning seasonal themes and moodboards for collections, making edits to lines, and creating new concepts while managing the design process from conception through to final styling. You will need to visualize and develop designs as per current trend analysis, balancing innovation and customer preferences. Sketching rough and detailed drawings using CAD and hand, specifying details like color combinations, fabric usage, material types, detailing processes, and accessory requirements will be essential. Additionally, you will supervise the making of sample garments, including fitting, detailing, and adaptations. Your responsibilities will also include understanding and advancing various designing techniques such as embroideries, embellishments, dyeing, printing, etc., and selecting appropriate production techniques accordingly. Keeping up-to-date with current and upcoming fashion trends, identifying new trends, fabrics, and techniques through market research, and adapting existing designs for mass production will be part of your role. You will be required to source suppliers, negotiate and buy fabrics, embellishments, and trims, as well as create production sketches for development packages and maintain technical specification packages for all styles and samples. Additionally, you will need to perform alterations as necessary, prepare budgets for garment designing, oversee production, and ensure quality control. Qualifications required for this position include a Bachelor's degree in fashion design from a reputed institution. Freshers, postgraduates, and alumni candidates can apply. Proficiency in Photoshop, CAD, Illustrator, and Corel Draw is essential. You should have an in-depth understanding of design principles, fashion, and the fashion industry. Strong multitasking, time management, communication, and people skills are necessary, along with the ability to conduct research. Creativity with attention to detail, an eye for color, texture, and pattern, technical skills in pattern cutting, grading, and garment construction, design and visualization skills, ability to meet deadlines and work within budgets, knowledge of different types of fabrics and their identification, teamwork skills, and knowledge of garments and technology are also required for this role.,
