You will be the NPQ Lead for Metallurgy & Metrology at Ather, based in IBC, Bangalore. Aligned with the Lead of New Product Quality, you will be a member of the New Product Quality team. Your primary responsibilities will include establishing Metrology and Metallurgy labs, leading and managing the labs to ensure faster and accurate test data, and developing measurement methods for components. You will be responsible for approving material, process, heat treatment of parts, and surface modification techniques based on application requirements. Additionally, you will work on application engineering of parts, ensuring the right selection of materials and processes without compromising on fit, form, or function during the development stage. Furthermore, you will lead root cause analysis for failure analysis, conduct RCA on field failures, and implement containment and corrective actions. You will also review and approve standards, specifications, and process controls associated with Material technology during part manufacturing. Your role will involve providing technical support, expertise, and inputs for various projects related to Metrology and Metallurgy. You should have a strong understanding of measurement technology, metallurgy of steels and aluminum alloys, heat treatment, surface coating technologies, as well as knowledge of materials such as plastics, rubbers, and paints. In terms of tools, you should be proficient in operating measurement equipment like CMM, FARO, VMM, material characterization techniques, SEM, DSC, TGA, and other relevant tools. Your domain skills should be complemented by strong behavioral skills including collaboration, meaningful communication, embracing change, and understanding people. To qualify for this role, you should hold a B.Tech/BE or M.Tech/ME/MS degree with 10 to 15 years of experience in Metrology & Metallurgy or a related field.
