Role Description This is a full-time freelance (contract) role for a 3D Rigging Artist. The ideal candidate should be experienced in creating production-ready rigs and have a solid understanding of animation principles and basic AI-driven workflows or tools. Responsibilities Create efficient and animator-friendly rigs for characters, creatures, and props. Implement deformers, constraints, IK/FK systems, and skinning setups. Collaborate closely with the modeling and animation teams to ensure smooth functionality. Troubleshoot rigging issues and deliver clean, optimized files. Follow industry-standard naming conventions and rigging best practices. Requirements 2+ years of experience in 3D rigging for games or animation projects. Strong understanding of anatomy and deformation workflows. Proficiency in Maya (primary), Blender or 3ds Max (optional). Experience in skin weighting, facial rigging, and blend shapes. Basic knowledge of animation principles (timing, posing, breakdowns). Basic understanding of AI tools or processes related to 3D pipelines. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Bonus Skills Familiarity with Python or MEL scripting . Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity integration. Cloth simulation, muscle rigging, or physics-based systems.
