MSWM Global Investment Office, MAPS Equity Team The Global Investment Office (GIO) provides investment advice via asset allocation, production selection, portfolio construction and thought leadership to help Financial Advisors and clients navigate markets. Role Description We are seeking a high motivated and detail-oriented team member to join our team as an Equity Research Analyst. All members of the team read equity research from Morgan Stanley and other banks in search of investment ideas. The individual will work directly with portfolio managers based in New York supporting idea generation, financial modeling, and portfolio maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in financial markets and company specific research, and should be a self-starter, curious and creative. Primary Responsibilities Perform fundamental research on individual stocks and industry analysis leveraging Morgan Stanley Equity Research to generate investment ideas. SUB-PROCESS BRIEF The Fixed Income Engineering Group is currently seeking a talented individual to take on a development role within the team. The team is responsible for the development, enhancement and support of tools required by the Product Development team to deliver high quality analytics to FactSet’s clients. Responsibilities Develop, test and deploy software Additional features and/or content is released to solution end users. Continued learning through additional trainings and code review sessions. Improved quality and productivity of output. Communicate and collaborate with product developers, direct manager and engineering peers to develop the correct solutions Effective project planning and development of expected solutions. Respond to bugs and requests for product development through internal systems Effective engagement in development and feedback life cycle Participate in design discussions and brainstorming of ideas to improve and develop new features. Gain broader proficiency for the product and demonstrate ability to contribute to forward direction. Required Skills 2-4 years of industry experience Strong professional experience in Python. Strong experience with Javascript development. Proficiency with Object-Oriented design principles Design experience with multi-tier web architectures and RESTful services is a plus Ability to articulate and quickly adopt development best practices Willingness to work as a member of a team, including participating in peer code reviews and maintaining project and operational documentation Ability to communicate effectively with peers within the organization Ability to work as part of a geographically diverse team Ability to create and review documentation and test plans Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent. SUB-PROCESS BRIEF As a member of the Fixed Income Analytics team, you will be working on various aspects of our analytics engine. This engine is responsible for the generation of mathematical results focusing on numerous available asset types include Bonds, Mortgages, Derivatives, etc. The original emphasis for this role will be to work on feature enhancements and improving the handling of different asset types through incorporation of additional terms and conditions data as well as improvements to mathematical algorithms. Working on this project will provide insight into the architecture of the engine. Engineers working in this group maintain strong relationships with peer engineers but also need to work very closely with Product Development and stakeholders. There are plenty of opportunities to learn strong programming best practices along with learning Fixed Income financial fundamentals. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop new and enhance existing features for projects owned by Calc Engine Team. Work with Product Development and stakeholders to ensure the highest quality analytics. Translate work requirements into testable and maintainable code ensuring that all success criteria have been satisfied. Work with Fixed Income Product Development to understand project requirements and work with other Analytics Engineers on the technical design of those solutions. Apply best practices to their own work and propagate this information within the team. REQUIRED SKILLS: 4-6 years of development experience in C++, especially in OOPs and Data Structures. Relational Database experience Python experience/familiarity a plus Ability to articulate and quickly adopt development best practices. Excellent organizational and communication skills Willingness to work as a member of a team, including participating in peer code reviews, maintaining project and operational documentation.
