Role & responsibilities Statutory compliance: Ensure statutory Compliance under Factory Act (1948) & State Rules, PESO, CP, MFR, MPCB, ESG Guidelines, CPCB norms, DISH, Fire NOCs to ensure legal compliance of SHE according to Maharashtra & Other states of India. Develop & Implement Safety Programs: Create and maintain workplace safety programs and procedures, ensuring that they are in line with industry standards and legal requirements. Implement risk management processes to identify potential hazards and develop effective control measures. Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor workplace, machines safety compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance. Prepare and maintain records of safety incidents, ensuring proper documentation and reporting. ESG data collection and report preparation, new ESG project implementation Hazardous waste monitoring and disposal, reduction Training & Education: Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees, including onboarding sessions and ongoing education. Promote safety awareness and foster a safety culture across all departments. Train staff on how to handle hazardous materials, use protective equipment, and follow safety protocols. Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Provide incident reports to management, regulatory agencies, and other relevant stakeholders. Analyse safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Emergency Preparedness: Develop emergency response plans for various potential scenarios and sensitize everyone frequently to prepare future Emergencies. Conduct drills and exercises to ensure preparedness and evaluate response effectiveness. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular daily reports for senior management on the status of safety programs, incidents, and compliance. Ensure that all safety-related documentation is accurate, up to date, and stored properly. STP Operation and Documentation. Continuous Improvement: Analyse safety performance metrics and continuously improve safety systems and processes. Stay updated on industry safety trends, best practices, and emerging safety technologies. Audits: ISO 14001:2015 & 45001:2018 TSHMS TBEM BSC British Safety Council Domestic and Export customer audits Compile non compliances and initiate corrective action in consultation with departmental heads To monitor deployment of SHE. Audit and Inspection Support: Participate in and lead audits for areas of responsibility, ensuring compliance with internal and external HSE regulations, including statutory regulations under the Factory Act, Petroleum Act, PNGRB guidelines and relevant applicable laws as per nature of the industry. Risk Management: Lead and support risk management programs, including hazard analysis, incident investigation, control measures identification, and completion of corrective actions. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks. Safety Observation & Behavior Modification: Conduct safety observations per set targets, analyze results to identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to modify unsafe behaviors in line with industry regulations. Legal and Regulatory Awareness: Stay updated with changes to laws and regulations, including the Factory Act, Petroleum Act, IBR, and PNGR, ensuring all activities comply with local, national, and international safety laws and best practices. Training & Development: Impart training sessions to enhance the competency of the workforce in safety and legal compliance. Ensure training is aligned with legal standards, focusing on safe practices under the Petroleum Act and other regulations. Industry Engagement: Actively participate in external industry bodies, trade associations, and forums to stay informed on legislative updates and safety best practices related to HSE, legal compliance, and regulatory changes in the petroleum sector. Safety Promotion: Plan and execute safety promotions within the company, highlighting key areas requiring attention to improve overall safety performance while ensuring compliance with the relevant acts and laws. Skills & Competencies Strong technical understanding of operations within the process industry, including petroleum and chemical sectors. Proficient in HSE laws and regulations, specifically the Factory Act, Petroleum Act, IBR, PNGRB regulations and other applicable Acts & Rules of the petrochemical industry including OISD standards requirements. Ability to coach and influence at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Expertise in auditing safety programs and implementing corrective actions. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and political skills for effective stakeholder engagement. Strategic thinker with the ability to influence long-term safety practices and compliance initiatives.
