Job Description: Welder (Fabrication) Job Title Welder Location : Chakan, Wasuli Salary : (depending on experience, location, and industry) Facility: Canteen Available. ( Ready to Relocate ) Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Welder Fitter with 2- 3 years of experience to join our fabrication team. The Welder Fitter will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and welding metal components to create structural or mechanical products in accordance with specifications. This role requires hands-on skills in welding and fitting, the ability to read basic technical drawings, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a safe, efficient manner. Key Responsibilities Fitting & Assembly : Interpret basic blueprints, shop drawings, or work orders to determine fabrication requirements. Measure, mark, cut, and shape metal materials (e.g., steel, aluminum) using tools such as tape measures, squares, grinders, and cutting torches. Fit and align components accurately using clamps, jigs, or other fixtures to prepare for welding. Welding : Perform welding tasks using processes like MIG, TIG, or Stick welding to join metal parts. Weld in flat and horizontal positions, ensuring strong, consistent welds that meet quality standards. Inspect welds for defects (e.g., porosity, incomplete fusion) and perform minor repairs as needed. Equipment & Maintenance : Operate fabrication tools and equipment, including shears, drills, plasma cutters, and welding machines. Perform basic maintenance on welding and fitting tools to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors to minimize downtime. Safety & Quality : Adhere to workplace safety standards, including proper use of PPE (e.g., welding helmets, gloves, safety glasses). Conduct basic quality checks on fabricated and welded components to ensure compliance with specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency. Teamwork : Collaborate with other welders, fitters, and tradespeople to complete projects on schedule. Assist senior team members in complex assemblies and learn advanced techniques under supervision. Qualifications & Skills Education & Certifications : High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a trade school program or apprenticeship in welding or metal fabrication preferred. Entry-level welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, CWB, or equivalent) are an asset but not required. Experience : 23 years of experience as a welder fitter, or in a similar role in fabrication, manufacturing, or construction. Hands-on experience with MIG, TIG, or Stick welding and basic metal fitting tasks. Technical Skills : Proficiency in at least one welding process (MIG, TIG, or Stick) and familiarity with others. Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings, weld symbols, and specifications. Competence in using hand tools (e.g., grinders, drills) and fabrication equipment (e.g., cutting torches, band saws). Soft Skills : Detail-oriented with a focus on producing quality work. Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced tradespeople. Good communication skills for effective teamwork. Work Environment Work in fabrication shops, industrial facilities, or construction sites, with exposure to noise, fumes, and heavy materials. Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights, depending on project requirements. Availability for overtime, shift work, or weekend hours to meet project deadlines.
