Job Description

Conducting comprehensive eye exams: This involves assessing visual acuity, eye muscle movement, and overall eye health. Diagnosing and treating eye diseases: Ophthalmologists are trained to identify and manage conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. Prescribing corrective lenses: They determine the appropriate eyeglasses or contact lenses to improve vision. Performing eye surgeries: This includes procedures like cataract surgery, LASIK, and addressing retinal detachments. Managing ocular complications of systemic diseases: They often work with patients who have diabetes or other conditions that can affect their vision. Providing patient education: Ophthalmologists counsel patients on eye care, preventative measures, and the importance of regular checkups. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals: They often work with optometrists, nurses, and other specialists to provide comprehensive eye care.
