As an ESG Specialist at ESS Recruitment, you will be responsible for leading the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives for our clients. Your role will involve developing and implementing ESG frameworks, conducting assessments, and ensuring high standards of sustainability and social impact across various sectors. You will serve as an advisor on ESG compliance, reporting, and capacity-building efforts. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement ESG strategies in alignment with global standards such as GRI, SASB, SDGs, and IFC Ps. - Conduct ESG risk assessments and due diligence for clients in sectors like mining, energy, infrastructure, and health. - Develop and maintain ESG reporting systems and dashboards. - Provide ESG-related insights for recruitment projects and proposals. - Advise internal teams and client partners on ESG trends, compliance, and best practices. - Support the integration of ESG metrics in training and workforce readiness programs. - Lead or assist in ESG training sessions and workshops for ESS staff and partners. - Collaborate with business development, compliance, and operations teams on ESG-related initiatives. Candidate Profile: Required: - Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Social Development, or related field. - Minimum of 3-5 years" experience in ESG, sustainability, or HSE roles. - Strong knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and regulatory trends in Africa. - Excellent research, writing, and communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders. Preferred: - Experience in consulting, extractives, renewable energy, or infrastructure sectors. - Prior exposure to workforce or talent development projects. - Familiarity with ESG challenges and opportunities.
